Topic: Strangling glory??

Hi

This may sound like a silly question but here it goes.

I have a rambling rose (Ena Harkness) growing from a large container onto an arch and it is doing fine and in full bloom. 

IN spring this year, I grew some morning glories that someone on A4A gave me and they are doing terribly well too - I planted one in the same pot as the rambling rose. 

My question is : the morning glory has grown up the arch around the rose.  Is it possible that it may "strangle" the rose and kill it ????  If so, I would need to retrieve the glory.

Hi Marianne,  Don't worry the Morning Glorys wont strangle the rose, they are annual and will die off over winter.

I'm sure they won't harm the rose, as has been said, BUT you may have tens of seedlings next year if we have a mild winter - I've been pulling them up for about a month now.  ;D

Hi Rosa Mundi,  I noticed they have sprouted up where I least expected them !  they took ages to "take off" in the colder whether but now they seem to have gone completely mad - my garden looks like a mini jungle !
