EJ! First I got the day wrong, now I find that I'd have got the venue wrong too? Thought that the back of the bike sheds was where the party was going to be held? Certainly, it's going to be where all the action is ;) - Lish

Impossible request Di!

There's nothing uniform about Ower Hugh..

So he'll just have to come in his Birthday Suit...with perhaps a bit of tinsel and one of those flashing stars? hmmmm...p'raps he'll be the flashing star? And now I foresee you all clamouring to be his 'bit of tinsel'..oh dear, how do I get out of this one? (as I was heard to howl in the early hours of this morning, from the back of the bike sheds...) - Lish

Thanks Bob, but I prefer the sportier bikes.  I am trying to convince Ava to get a Yammy Thundercat, but he wants to be all practical!  Men  ::)

boring, Sue?? I think it's brilliant! Makes all ours seem a bit mundane..

(but I still keep seeing 'SueT' - it's this cold weather - I've got food on the brain and it's putting inches on my hips  ;D) - Lishka

Hi Lishka, so pleased you don`t think my particular hobby boring, though there are many who do!  ::)  I`ve been trying to trace my husbands ancestors for a few months and have done quite well up to now.  The census records are fascinating, well to me anyway, and a very useful source of information.   Sorry about the suet,  hope it doesn`t  take too long for you to work it off!  ;D Thanks again Lishka, Sue

Sue,I suppose you are aware there is a site on the net where you can get the 1881 census for the whole of Great Britain, plus on that same site if you're lucky you can get quite a bit further back still? I have been tracing my mother's side of the family for years and had almost ground to a halt, until i got the internet.I have now,in some areas, gone back 8 !! generations.

It is like a passion, the more you find out,the more you want to know.As you say,a fascinating hobby.Do share your successes so far!
