My first 10k run
« on: December 19, 2003, 01:06:57 »
Just thought as I feel like I know some of you  ;D that I'd ask for some moral support.  I'm doing my first 10k run on Sunday (I know, it's far too cold/wet/snowy!) and would really appreciate some encouragement....

And it's for charidy

Bit worried about weather forecast...... :o

I joined in their coffee morning this year and raised £213.00, Just asking for donations for coffee and me homemade cakes! (you can see I am not the athletic type can't you!) They are an amazing bunch of people, ones we hope we never have to use, but are so grateful they are there if we, or our loved ones need them. good on ya!

Thanks Campanula, and Hugh, maybe you can think of a good costume for me (other than wellies and tight skirt) for 1/2 marathon..... :D

Suggestions will be considered....

hey Mystic, all the very very best for Sunday and lots of cyber cheering-you-on from someone who's never ever even run for a bus in her life ... MacMillan nurses do an excellent job and need their funding, so hope that your run brings them in lots of dosh too. - Lishka

I did it!  And it was orrible.  But not snowy, which is good, but really really really cold.....winds blowing across fields into me face as I tried to climb small mountains (gradual hills...felt like mountains) - grimaced me way through and made it in 1hr 3mins, which is a pants time for me but what the h*ll, I DID IT...AND with nipples like chapple hat pegs!!

1/2 marathon sounds less like fun now though.....
