New Years Resolutions
« on: December 24, 2003, 19:40:23 »
Now that Christmas is virtualy here we should all now be thinking of the NEW YEAR and in particular our new years' resolutions.

I have several (mostly private) but one I will share with you is this.

To be more organised in the garden (especialy the veg plot) such as making notes of when i plant things (I am notoriously disorganised and haphazard) and ...

Not be constrained by gardening 'rules' about when to plant/sow things TOO much.  Do things when i and the garden are ready for it to be done, while doing things 'properly' as much as possible (if that doesnt sound contradictory).

I say this because in the past I have left things until the so called 'right time' then put it off and done it late. Also my garden's  mild climate will probably let me do things earler in spring and later in autumn than in less mild areas/gardens.

I have decided for my New Years Resolutions, I am going to be a lot more adventurous  ::) - well for me!  I don't mean "Extreme Ironing" or "Bunging Jumping" like Jethro, but just living my life to the full.

I have sort of held back from doing things in the last few years because of the Chronic Fatiguey thing, as there was always a price to pay for overdoing it, but now that things are better, I have been thinking I would give myself some unusual tasks to do.  The first thing that I have already done is put my name down to join a "Singing and Signing Choir"  (You sign what you are singing). I am not deaf or anything, just think it would be interesting!

Have a multitude of things which I would like to achieve at the allotment.  Would probably be very pleased to have done half of them by the end of next year.  I would definitely like to grow carrots, which has always defeated me.  Would like to be more organised next year with what I do with my produce.  Need to learn more about storing produce etc.  I have been thrilled with my Brussel Sprouts this year, they were delicious for Christmas Dinner, and lots more to eat.

Most of all I think I would just like to "BE", no heavy thoughts just be at peace and one with nature, and life.  busy_lizzie   :)

Hmm thats made me think again.  :-/

WHAT WOULD I LIKE TO ACHIEVE IN MY PLOTTIE?

I too would like to grow carrots.  Dont seem to want to grow in my stony soil. Like to make a decent effort in growing them again.

Grow Peas. Season before last tried them for first time. Quality but not quantity. Last season nothing at all.  ???
next season/year? Like to get it right this time.
