effin caterpillars
« on: July 08, 2005, 07:56:08 »
I've been away from home for a couple of days and returned to find my balconi tomatoes devastated by caterpillars. I have squished over 100 and had to remove over 140 damaged tomatoes.
I'm not sure if I have got them all as nature has given them good camoflage. As they are in pots i was wondering if it is a good idea to take them from the greenhouse and put them outside for the birds to have a peck at as the balconis that I have outside have not been effected by this problem.
By the way these are most recommened with good yield ( pre caterpillar) and a lovely flavour, especially the yellow ones. My little one loves these which is suprising as she wont eat any other tomato

Cheers
