Cucumber help...Maybe
« on: July 09, 2005, 13:56:28 »
Hi everyone.
I have a couple of cucumber plants growing in half growbags up a frame outside. They are around 3 foot in height and I have tied them every few inches. They have a few flowers at the moment. I am now getting a bit scared, as I have not cut or pruned them at all. Do I need to do anything to them. I would hate to have got this far and missed doing somthing important...

Hi Karen.  If you scroll back a few pages you will find fairly long thread on cucumber care with pictures courtesy of Tim.  This should contain all the info you need.  Iain
Neil (The Young Ones) once said "You plant the seed, the seed grows, you harvest the seed....You plant the seed....."   if only it was that simple!!!

If they're outdoor cus, do nothing, except 'stop' them at the top of their support. Or let them trail down from there?

Tim - do I need to support my outdoor cucs?  I'm growing them on a large piece of the plot that we've covered in black plastic (to suppress the weeds).  They have loads of room to grow  ???
