Strawberries?
« on: June 24, 2005, 20:09:01 »
I have not been on site for nearly 2 weeks, so somebody may have had the same problem as me and got a reply which I have missed.
I went to my plot the other day and got lots of salad, and also some strawberries, which were lovely when eaten on site, but when I got them home they were mushy and soft on top. I inherited these strawberries with the plot so I don't know what sort they are. Is it something I have done? ??? Or perhaps it is to warm for them?  ???
Please has anybody out there had this problem.

No I don't think so. Some were still a bit green on 1 side.

i had the same problem with my strawberrys yesterday. picked about 20 and when i got them home half of them where mushy on the top. i think this may have something to do with the way i picked them, i pulled them of the stalk. next time i will cut them of leaving a little of the satlk on and remove this at home
takes over your life doesn't it
