Yo peeps

Just read an article about broccoli.

If you microwave your broccoli you are taking out over 75% of those thingymajigs that help fight and protect gainst cancer.. steaming your broccoli only removes 14% of these agents.

so I reckon you shouldn't nuke any veg at all.. and just get steaming..

Never nuke any veggies!  Steam everything, much better flavour.  Knew someone who used to nuke sprouts, they ended up like the proverbial school cabbage!  Yuk.

Hmmmmm,

I have a family member, whose house we have dinner at occasionally, (EJ will back me here), who understands the need "......don't overcook your food, or it cooks out the goodness".....however, they microwave vegetables from frozen........but barely cook them, so they are like bullets........

.......we end up with vegetables that are almost unedible, that are probably not that good for us.........and that zip across the dinner table when you try to dig your fork in them.............oh well

I detest microwaves anyway! Things are piping hot when you get them out, way too hot to eat, but then they cool down so quickly and so suddenly. It doesn't seem logical in terms of physics!  ;)

Doesnt your host think it odd you and EJ go dressed in hard hats etc.. to protect yourselves from flying Brussels ?  ;D

Oh Piglet, you have no idea how hard it is not to burst out laughing whilst sitting at the dinner table watching our daughter try depserately to ram her fork into a wee bullet carrot, and to see it go whipping across the room faster than they eye can see!  One day she will take someones eye out!  ;D  This particular hostess nukes everything!
