Lily beetle

I found a lily beetle on my regale yesterday; as far as I could see it was only the one. Does anyone know whether rhubarb tea will kill them?

No idea.
I know a finger and thumb will... which is apparently all the Chelsea gold medal lily growers said they used the other week!

Are lily beetles bright orange and look like oval large ladybirds from a distance? The flowers are fine on my lilies but the leaves are being munched!

Lily beetles are bright red.

Check under the leaves for the beetles and their eggs (black gunk). Squash both. They apparently are more active later in the day.

I forgot to check my early on this year and now my lillies have been totally munched. :'(
gone to pot :D

I had a few red Lily beetles, and got my boot to them early on.  Am now waiting for those lovely Chelsea flowers to open and give off their exotic sent.  ;D

That's them. Best i go out with my size 9's and a pair of rubber gloves and get squashing. I'll let the plants die back and check earlier next year.
Thanks for the replies folks.
