We've had some Whippersnapper out of the baskets but they didn't last long enough to get a photo either...  :-X

We've eaten 3 Japanese Black Trifele and 3 Clear Pink Early - but there wasn't time for a photo first!!

Wow congratulations to all of you, those are really early!  :)

My tigerella are just turning orange now. But I'm grateful for that much, with such a late start this year my GD are only just growing, not sure if they will have time to ripen before Autumn.

I am a bit dissappointed with the flavour of tigerella - I dont think I will grow them again.

You are so lucky you southerners. Here in Heywood, Lancashire 20 years of growing toms and our earliest ever was on July 29th. After that they are coming out of our ears. I top and tail the excess and dry freeze them we have delicious tomato soup throughout the winter.

Just ate our first pickings today too.......in the end, Cherrola, Atol and Bloody Butcher tied for first place in the ripe tomato stakes!

HAd our first ripe tomato today which was whipped off the plant by one of my 2 year old tins before I got to give the go ahead. It was orange, but thankfully it was a sungold so he was right that it was ripe. I did have to carefully explain that he did have to check with mummy that the tomatoes were ripe as this year I have orange one red ones and balck ones.

A couple of my anmores treasures are starting to  pink up so look forward to haing them before the end of the week.

My other toms are all doing great but im really looking forward to my JBT and my cosmanout volokov and chernomor that  are growing enormous.

My first tomatoes were on the 2nd of July a variety called Maskotka which beat the first Whippersnapper by a week. I have been having about three toms a day from the three plants of the Maskota.

Oh oh oh so jealous! My tomato plants are enormous and heavy with fruit but none of it is ripe yet! A couple of the smaller marmandes are yellowing though and the cherry toms are on the way, they are always quick to ripen. I spent yesterday afternoon staking and tying and pruning so now the fruit has more air and sun, obviously a good idea.

A couple more Tigerella's today, again eaten before the camera came out, I'm surprised with your Tigerella's taste Duke, the OH said they were georgeous, mind you I better check she wasn't talking about me, I'm just off to ask. :-[       ;D ;D ;D  :-*

only had two red tigerella so far,   but didnt get to eat either ,   brought them in and left them on kitchen table for my lunch and they were gone as soon as i turned around, one more should be red 2moro. 
i just hope they get going soon,, i dont even have that many green fruits : ( and i have eight plants in the green house.

We ate our first tigerella today. Its stripes were still a bit green, so I probably should have left it a bit longer. But it was very tasty - very tomatoey.

I've joined the early tomato club!  ;D

Ive got an anmore treasure almost ready reckon it will ebe ready for picking perhaps tomorrow if not Wednesday. Im safe the kids cant reach it so ive just got to beat hubby to it.

I have eaten cherry tomes from my tumbling bush type (very early, have already saved seeds) cherry toms from my vine toms, they are so far my favourite really lush and must resist and save quite a few seeds before i decimate plant. finally i have picked a couple of stupice which i will be saving the seed for next year also.  :)

Yes, I too was surprised about the Tigerella. I grew them this year from the fruit from last year, saving the seeds, and last year I found them really tasty. I did note down that they had thick skins but that can be an advantage as they don't spoil so quickly. I found the skins were only a problem if you cooked them but eaten raw they were wonderful. Sweet and very juicy. The beefsteak - very meaty - varieties are nice but I do also like a bit of juice in my salads, then you just mix in a little oil and seasoning and the sauce is all done for you!
I saw them this morning, all stripey, on the vines but still green alas.
