first show of the season

I entered the show in the next village yesterday and i'm very chuffed with the results.
first prize for any other fruit, I entered a plate of fifteen cherries.
first prize for a disc of redcurrants
second prize for a dish of blackcurrants, I entered Ben Nevis
second prize for three beetroot, had to dig nine to get three to match.
second prize for a large succulent the O/H looks after
second prize for a dish of eighteen raspberries, I entered Glen Moy
third prize for any other vegetable, I entered a marrow.
finally highly commended for a dish of nine gooseberries, I entered leveller
not bad, first time I've ever had a result for every class I've entered.
cost £1.60 to enter and the winnings £5.50 which just about paid for the petrol
