:D Hi, I've read your posts for a while, so thought it's time to show myself. I don't have a lottie, and only a smallish garden, but love growing things. Sadly my enthusiasm and hopes are far grander than my knowledge, but I try! I haven't watched Gardeners World since Geoff Hamiltons day, haven't had a Garden News since then either, and Oh, how I wish I'd listened to my Grandad in the garden, bless him. So have also forgotten most of what bit I knew. Anyway enough waffling, just wanted to say 'hi'.
;D Hi Pansy and welcome, glad you decided to take the plunge, its a nice place to rest your trowel, peeps here are very friendly and helpful. ;)

;D Aah thanks all of you for the lovely welcome. Must admit I woke up at 3am and thought, oo dear I shouldn't have posted, I know nowt. But you've made me feel better, and glad I did. Just remember though, I warned you, I know nothing. ;) xx
Hi Panzy, nice to see you here, ohhhh and please dont worry about things like that.
We are all here to learn and there are no tests ;D

and welcome, pansy
Hi Pansy and welcome. I only have a garden and I am also a recent newcomer to the forums. I am learning all sorts of things about plants, pests and diseases. I know LESS than nothing if that is possible ;D Such a great crowd on here, with a multitude of advise, stories etc. Some sad and some that have you falling off your chair with laughter. So sit back and enjoy, the peeps on here never ridicule even if a novice asks what seems a stupid question. Happy gardening Lorna.
Hi Pansy - this is a really friendly forum so don't worry about being new! I spent Sunday afternoon clearing out my grandads greenhouse (he died last August) and it was a very bittersweet time. I spent loads of time with him when I was much much younger but not so much in recent years as he lived a long way away. He loved gardening and won loads of local awards and he was so thrilled that I had caught the bug and was always giving me little cuttings and things. So I am now the proud possessor of his tools, pots and a tin full of packets of seeds which I will hope to grow myself. The thing that I can't have now though is his 70 odd years of growing stuff.... ah well.
Sorry didn't mean to waffle on - just to say I think we probably all wish we'd paid more attention to our grandads! :)
Welcome Pansy.
Don't worry, it's only 18 months since I was in your shoes. You'll pick it up quite quickly.
I don't have a granddad any more but I the next generation. Unfortunately, due to ill health Dad can't do the amount of gardening he used to do. To compensate I've bought him a very comfy chair for the lottie so now he sits & directs whilst I dig.

Hi Pansy, welcome and glad to have you with us. The wonderful thing about gardening is that everone keeps learning! I've only been 'serious' for a few years and I don't consider myself expert at all, but I so enjoy every bit of the learning curve each season. Best thing about gardening is sharing with other 'gardening buffs', so you're in the right place!
Look forward to hearing more........CLx
Hi Pansy, I don't have a lottie either, its the love of the plants we all share here...welcome and enjoy. Val.
