i am haveing to sow some this weekend as not all mine have come up
as it's a long term vegetable - i should hope it wont matter being a little later than usual

i am not aware of a problem with germination/premature bolting when sown later - though someone will probably correct me on that :)

The `lore` says it is too late-but go for it-they may not be monsters for Christmas but why not try and see?

Not too late at all. I sowed some even later than this last year and had a nice crop of roots about 3 inches across at the crown. Ideal eating size.
