Title: mystery plant
Post by: Mrs Ava on May 24, 2005, 12:44:14
Have this in the front garden.  Sorry about the focus but it was blowing a gale when I took the snaps.

The flowers start as pink buds, then open blue.  Prickly leaves in a rosette fashion.  Seems to be making itself at home and spreading all over!

An ideas?  Borage maybe??

hmm, have been through my books page by page and cannot find anything like it.  Wondered maybe a ground cover echium.  Trawling the internet now and getting sore eyes.  Am I tending a weed??

Looks similar to a dwarf form of Symphytum I used to grow, tho' mine had variegated foliage. The whole plant was very coarse and prickly, with comfrey type flowers.  Have found one called Hidcote Blue.    :-\     Maybe worth a 'google'.

Deeds...did this come from your garden?  I planted a lot of the wonders from you in the front garden and have a few of your labels dotted around, and there is a label by this one....but it is blank! ???
