Title: Moving Ferns
Post by: Mimi on May 24, 2005, 09:57:48
I am starting to create a woodland garden, and have some ferns that I would like to use.  Problem is, that they are in the wrong part of the garden.  I have never moved ferns before and just wondered when the best time to move them is ??? Any ideas.

I've moved a shuttlecock fern with no ill effects in fact I shall be moving more as they are breeding like rabbits :o

Same as with any other plant, plenty of water before, plenty of original soil and plenty of water afterwards. Only difference is that after moving an occasional spray over the leaves would help.
