Who can guess or who knows where this is?
It looks like there is too much fresh air there for it to be the underside of Spaghetti Junction ;D
Since you live between the Tyne and Edinburgh and seek to promote your own corner of Blighty, I'd hazard a guess at a bridge over the Tyne or the Firth of Forth.
:D
Am sure it is not the Forth Road Bridge, not enough legs into the water and no houses on other side?? Is it the new Millenium Bridge across the Tyne?
::) ::) ::)
I want a firm decision !
Humber Bridge?
Oh dear got an argument going in this house, I now say it is the Forth Road Bridge (crossed it twice a day for years), but hubby says it could be the Severn Road Bridge.
::) ::) ::) ::)
That second photo looks like the Menai to me - especially with that rain! Fond childhood memories of Anglesey flashing back now ;D
Heldi, you have to tell us where this is, please?
;D ;D ;D ;D
Forth Road Bridge, I know 'cos the FRB has a little island in between the legs just like that. Taken from the South Queensferry side, looking over to Fife ;D
And it's not that long ago that you said you'd be up this way soon, can't remember the thread it was on (the Beeb, not here) but you were asking about Scottish gardens to visit ;D
Caz it deffo isnt the Menai Bridge, ;) doesnt look like Runcorn Bridge. Ill go with Two spots call.
Hee hee Twospot, I'm only 2 hours away! ;D
Thats me in pink in the wing mirror in the last pic! Twospot has got it completely correct. The original pic was taken under the Forth Road Bridge on the South Queensferry side. I would have said looking towards Edinbrugh but I have to conceed to Twospot's knowledge and my ignorance of it being Fife!
Now you see the houses! A slight left turn with camera!
Thanks for letting us know Heldi. I also said it was the Forth Road Bridge.
Heldi, I could be wrong about whether the view is looking towards Edinburgh or Fife :-[ I've never actually been under the bridge on the north side (except driving under to go to Deep Sea World). For all I know, the north side could actually have a little island like that too ???
It is looking towards Edinburgh. I don't know whereabouts Fife is to be honest. Sorry Fife! I wondered when you said Fife if it was on the south side of the the Firth on the waterfront. Thinking the same as Newcastle doesn't run all the way down to the mouth of the Tyne. There is Wallsend , North Shields and then Tynemouth on the waterside too. Mind you the Tyne is only a trickle compared to the Firth of Forth.
I took the pics after visiting Deep Sea World . His Madge loves the first pic,he thinks it looks cathedral like. Sometimes when I look at it I get a slight feeling of vertigo!
It's the little island that confused me ???, there must be one at each side. North Queensferry, where Deep Sea World is, is on the Fife side of the Firth, South Queensferry is on the Edinburgh side of the Firth.
Oops I made a mistake then. Gawd I'll get there in the end heehee. North Queen's ferry!! Looking towards Edinburgh. I was tipsy when I wrote that,I honestly didn't know I disagree from my elbow at that stage hahaha!
Anyway it is the Forth Road Bridge, which is what I was looking for. Haha!
