Title: Indoor cucumbers.
Post by: tim on May 20, 2005, 20:39:00
Just to be different - this year I am not pinching out all the fruit up to 12-24" on half of them.
So - what will be the penalty??.

OOPS!!   Being new to vegatable gardening I didn't realise that you were meant to pinch out. I have large cucumbers forming within 6 inches of the base of the plant. Will this efect the later fruits?

You're 'supposed' to allow the plant to develop before it starts bearing.
So - we'll learn together??

Sorry, Tim, I don't understand the question - it's probably senility, but I'm a mere youngster compared with yourself  ;)

Do you mean that you are not removing any fruit that forms on the first 12-24" of stem of half your cus?

Phil
