oooooh!lovely!
we moved in here the end of  january...and last night we saw ur first bat flying round the garden catching whatever it is bats like catching!
i'm really pleased there nothing like sitiing in the garden as it goes dark and bat watching....
have i red somewhere teres a listening device so you can hear the squeaking?anyone know what it is?and how much>

There are usually a few round our allotments in the warmer months. I used to be able to hear them as a teenager, but no more.

It's just called a bat detector I think Kitty. If you google for bat groups there's bound to be someone on their forums who can tell you where to get one and the cost.
I've used one on several occassions when out with our wildlife ranger and it's amazing just how much noise they make whilst hunting for insects.

blimey robert-are you half man half bat?i 'm deef in one ear but even with the other they 'd need to be clinging on to the lobe and shartin at me for me to hear them! ;D
ooo-thanks eileen-good sites there-i've put them in favourites...i though maybe i'd get a detector for the oh(ostensibly!)for his birthday if they're not too dear!thanks!

Its fab but scary, one nearly pooped ones pants on ones first visit  :o  :o  ;D

We used to take the school children and i seemed to end up doing two to three supervised visits a year, so managed to get into the knack of professionally guiding the children, inside while i stood outside and supervised for strays  ;)(thats stray children, not bats ;D)
