Title: too late to transplant an arum lily?
Post by: Rox on May 18, 2005, 16:21:54
Hi everyone!  :D I have an arum lily in a massive pot that I'd like to plant out in the garden in a nice, moist, shady spot. It's been doing well in the container, but as there are no holes in the darn thing  :o, I'm worried about the water going stale and the plant dying from lack of oxygen (no, the container is zinc oxide, so I won't be drilling holes in it...) anyone know whether it's possible to lift and plant it out in the garden now? many thanks for any help or advice!  ;D

i have no advice for you, unfortunately.
just to say my arum lily is budding at the moment - not that i would pot it now - it seems perfectly happy in its present container :)

I expect if you can lift it intact with the soil and put it in the same size hole as your container it will be alright. I have just found one in the wrong position and have taken it out of the ground and put it in a large pot with no bad effects, as it just about to open.

I transplanted one in late July and it was fine.
