A fungal problem in seedlings:

Ventialtion and careful watering are key.

THANKS JERRY
I dont appear to have suffered from it then, although some seedlings have bent a bit, but no browning or fungus in sight,

I've had dampening off without actually seeing any fungus. Seedlings fall over and that's it.

I suspected it with some of my seedlings and so pricked them out into much dryer compost. They are fine now.

could be worth a try?
