Someone on the Beeb asked what people's idea of Heaven on Earth is. Well mine (today at least) is standing in the garden next to a Lonicera fragrantissima, holding a piece of hot home made bread with home made damson jam in one hand, a mug of fesh ground coffee in the other and listening to t a robin serenading his intended. Great!!
ooooooo mine today was being on my hands and knees in one of my flower beds, pottering around, discovering my asilbes are pushing though, and listening to the kids and Ava out in the front garden all playing a laughing happily without a care in the world. The sun was shining, and all was well in the world. ;D
Definitely sounds like little bit of Paradise, Eric ! ;D
... a blank canvas. A new garden waiting to be planned, designed, cleared, tidied, built, planted and enjoyed through to maturity as you survey all of your hard work :)
...and I don't think i'll ever tire of that thought!
I've spent some time thinking about this one, but it's got to be walking (or preferably riding) through a bluebell wood in spring. I'll stick to the path so as not to damage any blooms!
Or those late winter/early spring days that are unseasonably warm and sunny, when you are able to spend the whole day in the garden.
ahhh bliss!
Planting the seeds, watching them grow then eating them and savouring the taste, knowing there is no chemicals in them. Also sitting down the allotment with a cup of cofee listening to the birds singing their hearts out, watching the robins grow (there's a nest in my shed) and watching the ducks and hens etc bring up their chicks ;D .
And then there are those very early mornings in the summer, when it is cool and pleasant, but you know later on, it is going to be a scorcher . . .
...taking annual leave from the daily grind so that I can sit on my allotment, persuing the land, sun shining down, birds singing.......sometimes I sits and thinks....and sometimes I just sits.... ahhhh...bliss!
