Title: My toms
Post by: pixelated on May 15, 2005, 15:22:43
Just wondering if i have left it to late to grow some tomatoes. I got some seeds given which where out of date. I sowed them about 3 weeks ago and they are about 50mm tall now.

I was expecting them not to grow because of being out of date. Is there enough time left in the season for them to fully mature and produce tomatoes or am i wasting my time. Any help appreciated.

Hiya,

you have nothing to lose if you plant out.

I have self seeding tomatoes in my garden which germinate june/july. They grow and bear cherry toms every year untill hard frosts. Any toms left at that time get left to rot down and provide the following years plants.

When you say plant out do you mean outside. Was wanting to stick them in a few grow bags in the greenhouse.

No problem at all-that little plant looks totally healthy-let it grow a little more and plant away.
