Title: Frost Warning
Post by: giantseye on May 13, 2005, 19:57:52
 :o

Hi guys

There is going to be a severe frost on Saturday night and Monday night.  It's going to be near zero on both nights.

Looks like the fleece stays on for a while longer!!

I'm in the Midlands, so lottie owners in warmer southern parts may be ok.

Good luck

Two frosts earlier in the week here in Birmingham; I didn't get down today. To be safe, assume frosts are coming for a week or two yet!

Hi RB

Yes we had a really bad frost on Wednesday, which unfortunately caught out the people growing beans and potatoes.

One poor guy had his whole crop destroyed. :(

It really made me think about planting anything at the moment. ???

Ah well the summers coming..........it can't last for much longer ???

Well lets hope anyway ;D

Potatoes soon grow back, but I wouldn't risk planting beans out before June.

No frost to speak of here 'down south' but a few really cold nights which have given cause for concern. The Greenhouse heater has been (unexpectedly) brought back into use for the duration just on the safe side.

i see we have more cold to come (not nessesarily over the weekend here) next week.

To think a couple of weeks ago I was working in the garden in shirtsleeves, now i'm back to the winter work jacket!  ::) :o
