......... eating my home made cheese and ham scone and sipping a hot coffee with the windows all wide open. What a glorious day! Someone in the neighbourhood is having a tree either chopped down or very well topped as I can hear the chain saw going. I don't mind the noise, it is like lawnmowers, don't mind them, I like to hear people out and about enjoying the day, doing whatever it is they do. Today is cooking day with the kids, yesterday was art. :o Oh the mess! So today we have made scones and in a minute we are making chocolate rice crispy cakes and finally cookies. Hope Ava is hungry when he gets home from Munich tonight. Would like to nip down to the greenhouse later and do another tray of something, but I shall have to see how the children are feeling. My willow tree is all covered in little green buds and my ceanthos (sp?) is smothered in flower buds. That is going to be stunning when it opens.
Anyhow, just felt like chewing the fat for a bit. Hope you are all have a good day and that the sun is shining wherever you are.
;D
Dan we need a GREEN SMILEY to denote utter jealousy
Oh well I had a walk down by the canal in my lunch hour... saw some lovely shopping trollies swimming along... looked like they were going to start laying trolly eggs soon...
Ten x
Lol Ten! ;D EJ can I have a scone please I`m starving? :'(
Hi emma Jane
I am a newcomer to A4A, How is ti you have 5 stars and little me as 1.
Dont eat to many scones. :D
Here you go SueT. _n_. Hmm, does that look like a scone on a plate I wonder.....hehehehe.
They were lovely, and as Ava will not be home until the witching hour, I have lovely home made sausage casserole for tea, and I think I will warm a scone up to have with that. Delish! Sometimes being a downtrodden housewife has its good bits ;D
So remember those happy days when the children were small. The house was always a tip at half term. We made camps, - clothes horses and sheets everywhere, and all my groceries were taken from the cupboard so they could play shops.
I still remember the making of riscecrispy cakes and peppermint creams and picnics in the park even in cold weather. Happy days! If I sound wistful, I am! Enjoy EJ, (which I am sure you do)! :) busy_lizzie
No worries Tony, you get more stars the more posts you do! ;D
Hiya Tony - I have more stars because I sit here and post and post and post and post! Wonder if anything I post is ever sensible and helpful :o Kepp on chatting and it wont be long before you too can be godlike, just like li'le ole me. ;D hehehehehe
Home made cheese and ham eh, that sounds like fun!
Hey how come Sue got a scone and the rest of us didn't? ???
Aren't we your friends anymore EJ :'( :'(
I promise I'll only ever say the most complimentary things about you from now on - SO GIVE US ONE OF YOUR BL..DY SCONES!!!! :-* :-*
I think you are very sensible. Thanks to you all for your help you have given me in the past week.
_n_ _n_ _n_ _n_
There you are, scones all round. hardeehar Derek...you never know, I could have my own supply of piggies and cows. ;)
Yuuuuummmmmmm Just in from work and too knackered to even raise an eyebrow nevermind bake scones. One for me too please Emma with lashings of buttermmmmmmmmm sssss zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzznnnnnoooore
Know what you mean EJ. Been a lovely day though. Sunshine and dry. Moved a Weeping Willow, chopped down the dead growth in the Hidden Garden and just had 2 (greedy guts) pieces of Greengage Cake. Works for me. And the best thing? I can do it all tomorrow too. Oh and a fantastic beautiful Sunset as well.
Eileen, I got a scone cos I was cheeky and asked for one! ;D
EJ, have a similar feeling of contentment.
Littl'un and I had a very busy day in the gardy, rescued some plants which were too close to conifer due to be felled next weekend (Oh I do like it when the lumberjacks come to play!---- if I'm good they let me play with them ;) ); extended a flower bed (see piccies in gallery), sorted out the compost bins and left it all tidy.
Have since cooked supper, washed the kitchen floor free from muddy footprints, done the ironing, had a bath, organised a trip to British Musuem for tomorrow.
Discovered that my Clematis armandii is just opening, I is a happy lady.
Oh - if ever I needed a green smiley it's right now :( I'm green with envy as we have had about five minutes sunshine today, otherwise it has been raining and miserable with a cold wind, so no gardening for me today :'( If ever I needed a nice warm scone it is now - so how about it Emma :D I hope Ava appreciates what a little diamond he has in you ;D ;D
Those sones were delicious EJ. When's the next baking day!! ;D ;D ;D
I'll have mine without the ham, thanks!
another jealous emoticon needed, kinda. I spent all yesterday morning riding (two hours in the saddle!) and messing about with horses, so was again too tired to do much in the garden when I got home!
I know what you mean about lawn mowers - I love the sound of them. Heard one the other day and it instantly reminded me of summer. I love the smell of freshly cut grass too, even though it gives me hayfever! ahhhh...
