Post by: return of the mac on May 08, 2005, 18:59:23
Any one ordered from Jparkers (mail order) seems to have 3 different sites selling the same stuff ???, anyway saw a triple apple (3 varieties on one rootstock), has anyone got one of these?

Like all the "glossy" catalogues, J Parker has been in trouble before with producing slightly enhanced photos of the final product - especially blue roses, which is why they don't feature on my website.

But if those on the list have had good results over a period of years that shows all is well. A problem with multiple grafts is that the more vigorous one can take over so prune accordingly (in the summer for apples, winter prunning causes more growth not less)

Quite angry with j parker- phoned up because i had previously emailed an enquiry to find out what rootstock it had- no reply. So i checked the catalogue coupla days ago and they had released a new one without the triple apple! I phoned thinking that if i explained the predicament they would be happy to sort out a tree for me, as i was waiting for a reply from them regarding the rootstock. Woman just flatly refused- saying that they wouldnt send any more plants from the previous catalogue out, without even acknowledging my situation. Thanks for nothing jparkers! So ill just get a dual from T&M.
