Can anybody tell me if there is anything I can plant out yet - or is it still too risky re. frost etc? I'm new to all this, but have a load of plants that look ready to go out - baby savoys, sprouts, dwarf beans, runner beans, baby sweetcorn, mangetout, kale, calabrese, leeks, pumpkins, courgettes.......they're taking over!! Any help greatly appreciated!!
Hi Anne, :D
The ones that need keeping back until the risk of frost has past are the beans (runner & dwarf) plus the squashes/pumpkins, I`m not sure about sweetcorn (don`t grow it) All the others should be fine planted out now
Adrian.
Sweetcorn can't go out until after the frost.
Thanks for your help adrian and aquilegia. I'll do as you say and see how it goes!
OOh
I planted my sweetcorn out today, put some plastic bottles over each one so maybe they will be ok??
If not I will have to pop some more in.
I picked my first 3 radishes today as well :) How chuffed I am.
Melanie
Your sweet corn should be alright in thier bottles, Mine went slighly yellow at first last year, but I had a bumper crop
Good
Thanks :)
I've accepted that my planted too soon sweetcorn are now a rather attractive pot plant group!!
