Seeing that M&S ad with the choccy pudding made me hungry for the one mum used to make. So I emailed her for the recipe, and she supplied! :) Made it last night and it is divine, so thought I'd share:
Chocolate Self-saucing Pudding
1cup SR flour
½ teaspoon salt
180g (6oz) sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
½ cup milk
2 Tablespoons melted butter
Sauce
¾ cup brown sugar
1 ½ Tablespoons cocoa
315ml (10 1/2 oz) very hot water
Sift flour, salt, sugar & cocoa into bowl. Stir in milk & butter. In
casserole dish put sauce ingredients & stir. Onto sauce put cake mixture. It
doesn’t have to be even as cake will rise to top & the sauce will remain
underneath. Bake ¾ hr in moderate oven.
It's very rich! I served it with double cream :P
Ahhhh, funnily enough every time my son sees that M&S choclate pud advert, he asks me to get one,so he just might get lucky if i give this a whirl eh? ;D
Thanks Moggle :)
No worries :)
Also found a Delia recipe for puds with filling like the ones on the ad, but they look a bit complicated :-\ I haven't made that one! Hardest thing about my mums recipe is waiting 45 minutes while it smells so lovely and chocolatey ;D

Moggle, sounds yum! What would 1 1/2 tabs of chocolate equate to? (are Aus chocolate squares the same size?) Thanks DP ;D
Moggle i made your recipe tonight and i have to say it went down really well :P
Both OH and my son wolfed it down ;D
It was so simple to make and my son has insisted we have it at least once a week....lol
Tell your dear Mum thanks, and that there is a very contented family in Cheshire ;D

are tabs not tablespoons? The recepie is made with cocoa not chocolate and as far as I'm aware that only comes in powder form
never sure what cup means - is it actually a cup?! How big?! :-\
Thanks Moggle for sharing that with us. Might give it a go this weekend, not that I like anythhing made with choccy, ahem :)
But I will force myself to eat it so my OH doesn't have to suffer too much ;D ;D
MM
Yes i assumed tab meant table spoon, so that is what i did and i just used a regular cup.
I am not a choclate lover myself but i just tasted it to see if it worked out ok.
There was enough for them to have seconds tonite which they really enjoyed.
I am going to make it for them again next week but i will adapt it a bit and make a toffe sauce instead.
Duh me Miss B, that's what you get for not reading a recipe through! :-[
An American cup is whatever your ingredient is, measured in a measuring jug, up to the 8 fluid ounce mark. I presume an Aussie cup is the same? Or you can always use an online conversion site.
I have now edited the recipe to make it clearer, sorry for confusion.
Er, at home in Australia I always used standard 250ml proper measuring cup.
I have never got around to buying measuring cups here, and when I made this a few evenings ago, just used a teacup as a measure :)
Honeybee, I have passed your thanks on to my mum :)
Moggle my 15 year old has asked me if we can please have this pud EVERY night....lol
Thanks Mrs Moggle senior ;D ;D ;D
