Title: Cabbage Whitefly
Post by: westsussexlottie on May 03, 2005, 09:12:09
My sprouts and savoys have cabbage whitefly - huge clouds of the little devils fly up when the plants are disturbed.

I have looked in Joy Larkcom and it says "not seriously damaging" - but how "not serious" is that???? What do you all recommend?

The brassicas are netted against butterflies and slug traps in situ - but these little white flies are horrible...

Please help!

IF you had a hose ....!!

Otherwise, rush back & forth amongst the plants & disturb them!

There's a best time for that, but I can't remember when.

Trust me - I have disturbed them - but they fly straight back to the brussels  >:(

How much damage can they do? I do know they won't taste great for dinner with the savoys and brussels....
