Title: Had a mini crash -
Post by: tim on April 29, 2005, 11:29:07
- last night.
First, couldn't 'Start'.
Then the arrow wouldn't move.
Then no arrow.
Re-started twice. No joy.
Later, daughter tried twice & got in.
Please - any ideas??

My mouse came unplugged yesterday and I tried everything before I realised that was the problem, will look there first next time!  Felt really silly!

Hmmm Could be a virus. Try doing a virus scan. Or it might be spyware, try running spybot or adaware.

Just to reinforce the_sexy_snail (???) - on my antiquated, rubber-band-powered, low memory system - first sign of aggressive spyware, hijack, or virus is the mouse and cursor playing up.

Adaware, Spybot S&D and AVG - and hours of waiting while they clean the b*st*rds out.

Or (just possibly) your temp directory has become too full?  In Windows Explorer, do a search for *.tmp; delete the lot - none that are in use and necessary can be deleted.

Good luck - Gavin
