Title: Ants in my lawn
Post by: Merlins Mum on April 21, 2005, 21:10:03
Does anyone else have a real problem with ants in their lawns?  When I went into the garden this morning I found two mounds of fine earth, ants, and it's just the beginning.  I can't find a way of getting rid of them.  When I've used powder in the past it usually kills the grass too.
Is there a solution?

I've tried that kitty, I've also tried stamping on the b****rs but they just seem to pop up again.  Makes me itch just typing about them  :(

ants in your cupboard, you need to find what they're after, something sweet I bet.
set them pussycats on 'em, hahaha

I had ants in me cupboard the other day. After me compost pot that had been there for slightly too long without emptying! I think one little blighter must have come in and called up his mates.

quick hoover and the compost box outside and they are gone again :)

Hi Matt, thanks will give it a try.  :) They are a real pain in the summer months as they crawl over the dog and cat when they are sun bathing on the lawn and us if we get a moment to have a sit down.

Kitty, you keep elephants away with little balls of scrunched up tissue paper, well it works for us  ;D ;D

If they are not in your house then I would not worry! Just leave them to get on with what ants do best.

Don't worry Clayhithe, I've known kitty for a long time so I wouldn't expect anything less, but I bet that tissue paper has kept elephants away from her house.  ;D
She's now got giant ladybirds about to hatch instead!  ;D ??? ;D
