Title: Pea and bean weevil
Post by: janebb on April 18, 2005, 20:16:31
Does anyone know of a way to control pea and bean weevil organically.  I know that these weevils aren't supposed to kill the plant and the plants should eventually grow out of trouble, but if I leave it a couple more days there is going to be very little of my pea plants left.

Help!!

I've never had them too serious, so mine have always grown through the problem.  But Joy Larkcom suggests spraying with derris?

All best - Gavin

I always seem to get these too. I looked into spraying but the only thing reccomended was nicotine which isn't available to the amateur grower (probably just as well, its a poison.) My peas have always fought it off and cropped normally, it just holds them back a bit.  :)Â
