If any of you want good summer climbers, which need very little attention, just have a look at these two!
The Jasmine, often on sale as a house plant, is extremely hardy in the South of England, and will reward you well. I had one as a house plant for about five years which rarely produced flowers. In desperation, I put it in the garden one March and, boy, did it take off. It's now the most wonderful, fragrant addition to the garden. Just go out at about 8-9pm with your nightcap and sit and smell!
Topelium, with its little orangy/red trumpets is another great survivor in reasonaby sheltered areas. Personally, think it's best when teamed with a rose or some other climber but, don't be deceived, it will come back next year! A great one for growing through a tree or shrub without damaging it!
:D
post some pics. it's a pity they can't be 'scratch & sniff' ones ;D
So sorry, can't post any piccies. Unfortunately, don't live with that garden anymore! Maybe Palustris or someone might be able to help. If not, how about googling or going to seed site.
Apologies for not being able to come up with the goods! :D
