can anyone tell me how deep to plant them. Can they be cut in half?
djbrenton's yer man-hes on here somewhere-he very kindly swapped me some-btw-dj?did you get the bag? ;D
I planted mine about 7-8 inches deep, treated the same as other pots. Don't know about cutting them in half! Let me know how that goes. Lottie
I plant mine the same as all my other tatties, dig a shallow trench about 4-5" deep, then place the potatoes in the trench and draw the soil back over.
They can be cut in half, but I find the tubers are smaller than most other varieties, so there are already more to the kilo.
Agree with Derek - 4-5", & only cut in half if you don't have enough otherwise, & then only if both bits will have eyes.

Fir apple one of the best tasting pots I have had.
They should be planted at normal depth 4-6"
They can be cut but that will reduce the number of stems and hence the number of tubers. You also need to make sure that the cut has dried before planting or they can rot.

:)thanks I think I'll stick to planting them in the normal way
