I have noticed that there has been in the past some talk about "where do you go on the allotment"
Some use buckets others the compost heap.
Here is a link to the solution for those with a shed or a secluded area.

Hope it is useful, and apologises if it has been posted b4

that's a great idea. are you going to build one?
There is a great little book on the subject called "The Toilet Papers". I got my copy at Ryton Organic Gardens in Coventry.
Its full off "****" plans, sorry "good" plans and lots of info. I haven't built one yet, but do sit on one reading this book now and then, too much information there, sorry.

thats a great link sluggy-i shall be making mine soon-saves trailing all the muck and bullets in when you need a widdle! ;D
i think ash chips are ash trees,chipped.....tho when they are busy shredding i bet you would not be THE most popular person if you asked them to keep the ash chips seperate! ;D
is the willow bogatarium complicated?
lots of digging?(i think price charles has one at highgrove-donchaknow! 8))
think i'll stick to the sawdusty one-after all theres only me and the ol' man..... ;D
right-for those of you finding this a bit basic-look away now!
right..
where were we?
o yes-poo.
well-i understand that bit-i presume it falls neatly(depending on velocity!)into a pit or bucket-does the widdle go there-is it like a drainage pit with willows planted in it? ???
and are 'biomass' willows different from yer average salix-
i ask because, although our septic tank works fine-not a pong or an overflow-our 'soakaway' tank, being next to farm land not only collects our grey water but the water that falls on the field too.....i thought if i planted some willows on the soakaway side it would alleviate some of the problem......
short of digging a larger soakaway.....
which i am not about to do! :o ;) ;D
I just go in a bucket and either use it was activator for my compost bins or slingit in a barrel for use as liquid manure. Why waste all that nitrogen?
I think you'll find most folks on this site don't waste it and it all goes to a good cause ;D
:)
Thanks for posting that Ron.
I'll get my OH to start knocking one together ;D
Cheers
Bucket and chuckit.
Like when I'm sailing.
I do belive it works well with human Urine. How about human feases or poo. Will it smell?
The willow bog will cope :)
Does the willow eat the human poo?

Sexy snail,
50 years ago, when we lived on a small farm in West Wales, we had a loo a bit like this.http://www.weblife.org/humanure/chapter8_2.html
Next to the loo was a bucket of soil and a trowel: we had to put a couple of trowelsfull on each deposit.
I imagine that my dad emptied the bucket now and again, but I've no idea what he did with it.
oo-er-maybe you dont weant to know what he did with it clay! :o
bet your veg was lovely tho! ;)
