Title: Late spawn!
Post by: Mrs Ava on April 10, 2005, 22:39:50
Ava picked the wind blown debris out of our pond today and spotted a brand new dollop of frog spawn lurking under the bridge!  Very late isn't it??  The spawn at number one sons school hatched over easter weekend and there are now oodles of growing tadpoles.

As you can imagine, Ava, and the kids are very excited.  ;D

Is it EJ? I've been waiting ages to see some frog spawn in my titchy tiny pond...nothing , not a sausage...oh well looks like I'll have to wait for next year now. :(

Well, I think it is late Val.  Everyone else seemed to be chatting about their spawn back in March!  Thing is, our pond is shadey, and we had been altering things so I think we have frightened all of the regulars away.  You never know your luck.

Yes mine's in the shade, in fact the water is freezing I felt it the other day but I only started the pond last year...I call it a pond its more like a water feature for frogs. I know there are frogs in it ...oh well maybe next year.
