Title: Tamarind Seeds
Post by: nitiram on April 07, 2005, 16:12:45
Have been to Brum to visit my daughter..while there she introduced me to the delights of eating tamarinds...boy are they horrible!  The inside bit that you eat looks and taste a bit like dates and has similar stones. Ever the optimist have brought home some of these seeds...they have such a hard shell so how do I get them to grow? presume that I  chip the shell like you do with any hard coatedseed and then soak. Has any one ever tried growing them?

i've never tried tamarind seeds, but I love the taste of tamarind - we had a mad thing about pomegranates and they sent us free tamarind pods, which were lush, and I love the taste in curries...good luck
