I needed some new trellis for a new clem today, and just couldn't afford anything at the garden centre. I remembered the article in May's GW magazine and have followed their example, and here's my trellis (I haven't drilled and knotted mine though, I just used some knot I remember from being a Girl Guide!):

The sticks cost me £2.29 and I already had the twine (natural jute). It didn't take long to make either, and it's hung on the wall using two screw hooks which I drilled holes for, bunged rawl plugs in and then screwed in the hooks.
All ready for "Pointy" to take up residence!
Hi Plocket
Looks pretty darned good to me !
Cheers
Andy
Great idea Plocket  :)
Oh no Jesseveve - it wasn't my idea - I saw it in Gardeners' World magazine - the May issue. I can't wait to see the clem up it though. But that will have to wait until the weekend.

Very ingenious. It reminds me of a Venetian blind ;D

A great idea, I've loads of canes...thanks Plocket.
Dear Plocket, posted you a message on the Beeb site, but now I have seen the 'Plocket Trellis' in full glory! Sure your Clem will love it. CLx
Groovy stairway to heaven Plocket!
Stairway to Heaven! I love it! It doesn't get me very far though - it's not even 2m high!!!!!
think i'll pinch your idea ~ hope you don't mind ;D how's LP's garden coming along?post some pics of it.
It wasn't my idea! It was in Gardeners World magazine (May).
LP's garden is doing well thanks for asking - except that she does have a tendancy to dig things up to see how they are doing! The petunias are still indoor seedlings which she nearly drowns on a daily basis, but they are hanging on! The sunflowers and nasties will wait until the weather is a little better!
