I've spent the morning with my Fave Lady gardener :-* an 83 year old with a v. large garden and no help (til I turned up 8)) She gave me 100+ leek thinnings last year so I certainly feel that I owe her one ;)
She's lamenting the fact that she can't find seeds/plants of Gold Siberian Wallflowers - the colour's got to be gold and these wallflowers have a dwarf characteristic, apparently??
Please, would anyone know where she can buy these?
Many thanks for any info I can pass on. Cheers!
There was an article all about wallflowers in the september issue of the rhs magazine which says- "Siberian wallflowers are at the current state of breeding, only ever orange, apricot or yellow in flower."
If the orange colour could be closest to the gold she is looking for, suttons (suttons-seeds.co.uk) do a dwarf siberian variety. Hope this helps.
dobies.co.uk have them as a mixture of yellow, gold and orange-i guess you could save the seed of the ones you want. have 'googled' and cannot find a supplier for single gold-there are some that have a mixure, and suttons has them as orange.
chiltern seeds lists two erysimum 'gold dust' and 'gold shot' that sound compact-but whether they are 'siberian' i don't know!!
I have seen these on the Unwins website, they have many kinds.....one of my most favorite plants!
