ok, i have found these wierd little creatures in with my tadpoles and have no idea what they are. here's a description;
they are beige little wormy things, very slim. umm.. they are kind of teardrop shaped, and their top half sticks to the floor while their tail kind of sways.... ???
any idea what it is?
Sounds a bit like a leech to me. Can be short and stumpy or long and thin. Sort of greyish brown worm but a bit flatter. I will upload a picture once I have learned how.
Picture below of leech in its elongated form.

Is there a chance this stuff could be mosquitto lavae?
Hi there .Definitely sounds like leeches to me.They present no risk or harm whatsoever,in fact they will help clear up any decaying matter in your pond.
will they be of any harm to the tadpoles?
and, redclanger, i couldnt see that picture?
No they will not harm the tadpoles.They are vegetarian leeches ;D ;D

I don't know why - I've cut and paste the picture's link and it is still in it's location. This site must just be having a problem calling it up. It was there the other day.
