Oh they are lovely Tim, particularly like the one on the right.  Skies are facinating things at the best of times I think.

Just wish we lived by the sea - looking west. As we both used to, as children.
And the ships passing by.

I know what you mean Tim.  When my Dad retired he and my Mum moved to Cornwall, near the Lizard and the sunsets there were magnificent.

Bude was my family centre. And either New Brighton or Empacombe, my Wife's.

Ah Bude, I have never been there but used to see all the signs when I went down to see Mum and Dad.   I take it you are Cornish then?

Beautiful pics !

Amazing coincidence Tim, my father, grandfather and great grandfather were all seafaring Bude men!! When my father passed away, 28 years ago, ( he was only 58 ) his wish was to have his ashes scattered into the sea over the breakwater in Bude.
My grandparents ran a B&B and tea rooms from their 18 century cottage in Poughill. Wonderful memories of overpowering fragrance from sweet peas and honeysuckle, still my favourites.
I narrowly missed being born in Cornwall, as when my mum realised she was expecting twins, she caught the first train home to her mum in Newcastle !!  ;D

Love Cornwall sunrise/set's, have seen many in my time over there.
Mind you. Canada has it's moments...these aren't the best shots but we do get some lovely one's here.

Red sky at night, shepherd's delight - red sky in morning, shepherd's warning!

Big skies over there, Glyn??

Bude - Maternal g'parents lived in Northcott Mouth. Now a café. Paternal ones in 'Pudner's Cottage', Poughill. That's how it all started!! Great Uncle lived in 'Langfield', Bude - now a 5 Star hotel!!

No - not Cornish. None of us. Don't know why they were there.

Red sky at night, shepherd's delight - red sky in morning, shepherd's warning!

Round here(Yorkshire) we always say red sky in the morning, sailors warning. Must be a regional thing!

That's really interesting Tim.  I've printed it for my OH, he should have been a weatherman, he's facinated by the clouds and what they mean.  I'm sure he couldn't be much worse at predicting the weather than the crowd we have on the telly.  :)
