I've come back from a week away to find my plants (such as they are in this drought!) covered in blackfly, greenfly and whitefly, but also "redfly", that I've never seen before. What are these, please?
yes i cant remember a year where there are so many the red ones might be red spider mite my beans are covered dahlias too but dont want to spray as there are loads of ladybirds appeared in the last two days so fingers crossed all will be well soon
We had so many ladybirds in the house over the winter, but hardly any in the garden now!
I am never sure what to do with the ladybirds in the house.
Do they find their own way out when it warms up?
Some of them do, but we've found a lot of dead ones too. :(
Here, at last - the first ladybirds have arrived to eat the aphids on the beans, a bit less squishing needed today :}
