Left to right they are Dora, Snow Drop and last but not least Pearl. A Daisy Belle, White Star and Sussex Star respectively.
We picked them up yesterday and introduced them to our neighbours birds and today they seem happy enough with each other. Indeed Dora laid an egg at about 9am this morning. Bit late for breakfast but will be enjoyed later today!

Jerry
Hey Jerry, well done for finding some hens, it's not as easy as you'd think, is it. They look lovely and well settled. You're lucky getting an egg already, we had to wait a few months until the hens were old enough.
Like your new chickens! I wish I had some to come and eat my slugs. Maybe I could borrow some on a daily basis and take em home after a hard days work ;D
They continue to settle in well, and love slugs and snails!
Once they are fully at home they will be given the range of the veg patch at home when I am working there so they should find even more slugs.
At the moment though I fear for the local worm population as my kids continually want to dig up worms to feed them! (They love chard as well)
Jerry
Pleased you've found them Jerry i've been reading with interest both on here and the Rivercottage site. Not sure about giving them names but i suppose thats the kids. Hope you enjoy them.

My daughter has discovered that our hens like snails. She spends ages at the allotment hunting out the snails and putting them in a jar to bring home to treat the hens. Last time whe didn't have a jar handy so she put them in a bucket, we had the great snail escape in the car on the way home! It won't surprise me if there's still a few creaping around inside the car somewhere.
