We used to do this a few years ago. The A4A Advent Calendar. Anybody can join in. The first person each morning who wants to join in and finds it empty can post a gardening/allotment related picture of what they would like to see in the calendar. Have fun, leave remarks, keep it cleanish otherwise the mods will move it to the watershed. Here is the first box open.

Is this what you want for Xmas? Do you want it gift wrapped? The reindeer must produce quite a lot.
A welcome sight even the fly seems to like the first offering?
Day 2 How about this instead of a shed.
(https://s33.postimg.org/vfug6vj5n/shed.png) (https://postimg.org/image/vfug6vj5n/)
Good idea easier to move. All you need is a horse!! And then it will produce the manure as well. Personally I would prefer a pig, it would enjoy all my stinging nettles.
Ideal method of "Rotation"
Sunshine
I see you have your head in the clouds again Digeroo.
Suggest you keep off the festive spirit as you seem to be getting double vision.
Two summers do not make a swallow.
Well it is nearly chrissymas and I like seeing my little mate when I am digging.

Nice to see that you are keeping a "breast" of things Ace and handling the calendar well!
Day 5 - some colour in the garden would be nice!

Thanks Nick that picture was just what I needed saved me taking a vitamin D tablet (my sunshine tablet)this morning.
Nice one!
No. 6, I hired one of these once, rotovated a dozen new plots in a morning for friends. (https://s33.postimg.org/3s338qt4r/kubota.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/3s338qt4r/)
Quoterotovated a dozen new plots in a morning for friends
Your friends including the Robin must have loved that!
I couldn't do that due to my plots being inaccessible to such a machine.
Have a word with OH she might buy you one for Xmas :icon_santa:

All you need now is the snow to make a perfect Christmas Scene
Ladies day today. A bit of help in the garden. (https://s33.postimg.org/4w7f8rid7/gardeners.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/4w7f8rid7/)
Ah! I remember the days!
Sadly I got out of the shower this morning and looked in the mirror and my memories were shattered! :icon_king:
Same here Tee, I had the body of a Greek God, now it is more like a Greek restaurant.
home made presents chili jam this one from Carolina reaper down to pot black something for everyones taste merry christmas no9
I am not into jams although I do get into many!
Sounds as if this one would suit the "Winter chill" we are having.
Perhaps you can put some on your shed decorations because when I saw those the first thing that came into my warped mind was "Brass Monkeys" :icon_rendeer:

This lot turned me off so not one for this lady! The only good thing about these men is that none of them have hairy chests. Why do men want to develop their muscles so much that it appears they have boobs? I find them so off putting.
Paulines😂😂
One for the Advent calendar.

Can anyone tell me please why this photo doesn't enlarge the same as the other photos on this thread?

It does enlarge but only to the size of the original photo uploaded I believe (320 x 240 pixels) according to photo properties
Maybe I should try this one:
(https://s19.postimg.org/mh54i5xrz/DSC00062.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/mh54i5xrz/)
This one doesn't do it either! Maybe I will get the hang of these things one day!
Well the help for the ladies got a few likes but getting picture for help for the men could get tricky if old vinegar drawers kicks off again. So here we go lads proper help. (https://s33.postimg.org/dntni2a17/Cambridgeshire-_Land-_Girls-_Cambridge-_News.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/dntni2a17/)
Trouble is Ace if that gang of men got in tow with these ladies I doubt if any gardening would be done.
But yes the ladies look like the real thing.
If I click on the pic it comes with an ad for a dating website with the by line
'Give your love life the boost it really needs.....'
Or should that be boots?
Pretty (cold) back garden, and currently -2. Starting the week indoors.
We read a lot these days about robotics and advances in artificial intelligence, so how about this gender neutral helper?
What has a tin of choccies got to do with gardening? Well I use them to bribe the grandchildren into helping me and the coffee creams make good slug bait. Plus the tin makes a good seed saver.

Frost on the outside of the windows.
Much better than when we used to have frost on the inside!
Chocolate essential!!!
My Chocolates have all gone and so are the biscuits as you can see here;

Something for when you need to plant deeper.

Love it!
Even at my age I can't remember tools like that. :icon_farao:
Did you borrow it from Fred Flintstone?
Got to have wellies, you are not a gardener without them.

Too true and don't forget the hat!
:icon_santa:
Welly boots? Gardeners should be wearing safety boots

Your toes are important and they are zero rated for vat.
specially for Digeroo today, stand alone toecaps, wear them with stilettos and make planting holes by just walking across the plot.
(https://s33.postimg.org/5nack06zf/New-non-slip-font-b-steel-b-font-font-b-toe-b-font-font-b-cap.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/5nack06zf/)
I have found kicking weeds is a good way to get rid of them. What I need is something like that with a hoe attachment on the front.
The stiletto sounds a great idea for planting leeks.
QuoteWhat I need is something like that with a hoe attachment
Yes I know what you mean a bit like the blade those bad guys in films have in their shoes!

day 16 and the only secateurs you will ever need. I send mine back for a service now and again and I am sure they just send me a new pair.
(https://s33.postimg.org/p33yfk5mj/fel4_L.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/p33yfk5mj/)
Internet down for 24 hours so I will have to do two today, well two pairs of fork handles
(https://s8.postimg.org/ralhiz5y9/four.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/ralhiz5y9/)
day 19. a few sprouts, more than six, so a antisocial amount according to one council today.(https://s10.postimg.org/8eh74x9at/sprouts.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/8eh74x9at/)
Could you stop leaving your vegetables lying about the place. It is attracting flies, they are crawling all over my computer screen!!
Only 5 days to go!
Today is the day for these, plant on the shortest day, harvest on the longest day. Eat them boxing day with the cold cuts.
(https://s10.postimg.org/64l9p3xxh/shallots.jpg) (https://postimg.org/image/64l9p3xxh/)
Yip!
I agree, my seeds will be sown in 2-3 weeks time, meaning another gardening year has begun!
Doesn't time fly?
