So when I got my allotment I just wanted to get something in the ground. Tesco had broad bean plants for £2 so I put some in. They've done really well and now I am harvesting loads of beans. Trouble is, I don't really like them just boiled. I've sliced the young pods up in a stir fry with rainbow chard, that was tasty. Can anybody suggest other things I can do with them?
Use them to make baked beans.
Tin tomatos, onions (fried), tea spoon mixed spice, tea spoon ginger, apple juice or and apple, carrots, celery and of course the beans.
I use them instead of chick peas to make houmous. You have to double shell them though but it is delicious.
Podded and steamed but left to go cold then mixed with feta cheese and a drop of olive oil, just right this warm weather. Pop them out of their skins if they are too big.

I did something similar last year: beans, gruyere cheese, olive oil, a tiny bit of garlic, loads of fresh dill, lemon juice. Absolutely delicious.
There are lots of broadbean (fava bean) recipes here
