Not really.
Just thought I'd mention my local Lidl has some nice Dahlias on sale.
Nice price too - three in a pack for just £1.99.
And before anyone asks, no, I don't have any shares.
Cheers
I was tempted by the mixed dinner plate dahlias, and very happy to find the packet actually had four tubers when I got it home. I have to stop buying though. I'm sure I don't really have the space!
ive bought lidl dahlias every year and they have done very well
Supermarket plants can be fine. A lot of people on our site swear by Wilko for potatoes and onion sets. Thought one has to beware. I bought some (admittedly cheap)blueberry bare rooted stems a few years ago and one of them turned out to be a goat willow!
Lidl is great for stuff however sometimes with bulbs especially you don't always get the variety pictured.i bought aftershock Gladys last year and a rum bunch of random red flowers came up instead! But this is a universal issue, I once spent 40 pounds on specialist ameryllis bulbs at a posh Christmas market , they all came up as apple blossom! And the dahlia packs from wye vales also not the stated variety.
Sometimes though the suprise is better than what you were expecting!
You can't beat the fruit trees and bushes for value at the moment one euro for a red currant bush!
Once again Lidl are stocking strawberry plants, and a good assortment of raspberry canes, and various types of currants. I've purchased some of these in the past and thought they were good value for money. Healthy plants and not too expensive.
My current strawberry bed is only in its second year and my fruit cage is full so I didn't purchase anything but if you are looking for any of the above it's well worth ten minutes browsing.
