Title: Pineapple Sage
Post by: MagpieDi on March 29, 2005, 23:41:18
Overwintered this in the conservatory, as a bit tender. The leaves have a very strong pineapple fragrance. I'm sure they must have a culinary use, but no idea what !  Anyone else grow it ?

You can use it in the same way as ordinary sage, unfortunatly the wonderful pinapple scent dissapears when cooked.

Try using it freshly torn in a fruit salad.  Very nice indeed!

I've never actually eaten mine, just smelt it a lot! Unfortunately it's too tender even for my garden and looks like it's not made it through the winter. never mind. It was cheap (about 50p) i'll just look out for another one this year and take it in for the winter.
