Title: Blackcurrant questions
Post by: Digeroo on September 11, 2016, 11:29:39
They seem to have sprouted a lot of new buds hoping these will take off next spring,

Came across this which I find interesting

http://blackcurrant.co.nz/blackcurrants/production-cycle/

Their main feed is March/April in NZ which presume equates with Sept/Oct here.  Is anyone feeding their blackcurrants now?

The second pic below the buds are six inches from the ground, do you think I should lift it during the winter and replant 6 inches deeper? So buds at ground level.

They were fed July as per the late great Geoffrey Smith's policy of Pick prune feed.  The pruning are now nice little plants.

And I have thought of another question.  Should I rub out some of the buds so only the required number sprout or do you think the plant will be sensible.
