Title: No floor

Hello,I've finally got the greenhouse up and ready to go. Theres no floor in at the moment so just for this year i'm thinking of planting straight into the soil what do you reckon? I'm growing tomatoes and chilli's could i manure the ground ready for putting stuff in backend of April or maybe Comfrey leafs any thoughts?

You can  dig some manure in and grow straight in floor the first year and I think you will find you willl have a great crop of tomatoes... cheers.Jim

I don't and never intend to have a floor in the greenhouse, just a path down the center. It is a bit of work digging the soil out every year but having the windows out in the winter (against vandalism) makes it easier. This way I can park a wheel barrow outside and throw the soil in through the frame. I dig a trench on either side of the the path, dump the soil in the lottie and take soil from another part, mix it with manure and compost and fill the trenches back up. I just plant all tomatoes and peppers straight into the soil of the greenhouse.

I intend doing the same. I've got my 8 chickens in there every morning digging for me.
