Title: Brussels Sprouts

Hi All,

Has anyone started there sprouts yet?

I believe from when i grew them before that they want hard compacted soil so wonder if anyone has tips on doing this with a container??

all brassicas prefere hard ground             sprouts id go for early half tall it smaller than the big boys maybe if you made a support say 4 small canes then put string around the canes so the plant doesn't rockin the wind you may be ok the taller the plant the more trouble you may have hope this helps

My father, on greensand which is not ideal, reckoned on "concreting " them in. Not literally but a hole made with a crowbar, plants dipped in Jeyes fluid solution, plunged in really deep and then watered in with mud, and compacted with much energy from a size 8 welly. Worked for him.
