its really easy take one onion bag fill with torn comfry leaves i then place a kilo ish of pigeon poo in the sack tie ste sack with nylon string drop it into water  butt  fill the but full of water drill a small hole in lid of water butt pass string through the hole tie onto a piece of cane so it dont drop through the hole leave for 6 weeks then every time you let the tea out lift the cane 2or 3 times to brew the tea  use at a rate of 2 cups per 10ltr watering can one butt full lasts a season job done no shop bought feed was hurt or used in this process hope this helps

Do you think I could do that with rabbit droppings? I don't have access to pigeons! Sounds like a great plant food you make there.

I really should get a move on and find myself some comfrey...

i think any manure will do the job later in the season i put more comfry in to up the potassium  to help the fruit and flowers i also make a waterbutt full of nettle and pigeon poo as a spring pick me up i think after that you can see them grow before your very eyes lol but it is pure nitrogen so use sparingly hope this helps

Thanks for that. Use Comfrey "tea" each year but hadn't added any manure.

Thanks Johnny! I've been composting the rabbit bedding from the litter boxes but they tend to poo quite a lot in their run area too (wooden floor in my living room, so easy to sweep up separately).

Honestly, they are tiny little things (about 1kg or 2.2lb each) but an incredible amount of food goes in one end and an incredible amount of manure comes out of the other end! :P

Same here, daleks all around the plot.  But I think this is a good thing.  Firstly wind break for some plants (which I deliberately plant next to the dalek composters).  Secondly run off of nutrients, again not lost, but immediately available to the adjacent crops.  Extra warmth from dark, warm composters must benefit plants on a cold, clay site.  Emptying and spreading compost is easy too, I tip the daleks in spring and put in their new place, then with a fork take the non composted top off, place it back in the dalek and spread the rest with a rake rather than having to lug it. Not so tidy maybe, but there is method behind it.
